Question 1. With reference to Ord. 5/1896 and Rule 6 (1)

of the Suitors Fund Rules. Have you taken the view

that all moneys payable into Court should be paid to

you and by you to the Colonial Treasurer or that same

should be paid directly to the Colonial Treasurer by

the person desiring to make payment?

I have always understood that moneys should

be paid to the Registrar and by nim to the Treasurer.

Do you accept as correct the figure of

$31,940.10 given by the Auditor as the amount which

the Auctioneering and Brokering Co., Ltd. has failed

to pay into Court in respect of distraint sales?

I do not know whether the figure is accurate

but I accept it. The figure is round about $30,000.

The figure includes execution sales and two items in

respect of s.s. "Ling Nam".
